Upcoming Workshop Sept. 24-25: A Creative Lighting Breakdown: From Simple to Complex with Boston based photojournalist Rick Friedman at Precision Camera & Video
Come join Rick Friedman for two days of lighting and photographing models. From speed lights to studio strobes to LED lighting and light painting. This is a hands on lighting workshop, where you get to photograph the models on each lighting set up. At the end of the workshop you'll have a greater understanding lighting and the effects of different light modifiers and color gels. You will also have some new portfolio photographs! Bring your camera and lens and Precision will provide the lights and light modifiers. We had 860 attendees and 12 local businesses support our annual event held on the beautiful Georgetown Square. A special thank you to Linda Nickell for hosting her happiness hour LIVE and in-person at the Georgetown Public Library, to Precision Camera for setting-up stunning backdrops and lighting equipment in the Grace Heritage Center, and to our talented instructors who led photo walks, classes, seminars and portfolio reviews. We are just a few days away from the 3rd Annual Georgetown Texas Photography Festival on the Square in Historic Georgetown March 19, 2022. The Photography Festival is hosted by David Valdez with his co-host The Williamson Museum.
The photography festival is from 10am-4pm. Officially we start at 10am. However at 9am, Rudy Ximenez will host a photo walk during the monty Pistons on the Square car show. The next photo walk one at 1pm will be led by Todd White . Looking for a photo walk that’ll be a little different, join Todd White and 2 models as he focuses on portrait and editorial photography around Georgetown in harsh light. This photo walk will be more like a mini-course where you will learn creative outdoor portrait photography techniques using available light. So grab your camera and let’s get creative. The last Photo Walk at 2pm led by David Valdez. David will stretch your imagination to compose a photo from existing art or sculptures in Georgetown. David is also the host of the Georgetown Texas Photography Festival. All photo walks will leave from the Williamson Museum, 716 South Austin Ave Georgetown,Texas. In the Georgetown Art Center will be 3 photography classes that you must preregister for. Click here. Todd White is teaching, "Lighting for Editorial Photography" at 10:30am. Earl Nottingham is teaching, "Art of Landscape Photography" at noon. Harrison Funk is teaching, Introduction to Portrait Lighting at 1:30pm At 3pm in the Georgetown Art Center, 816 S Main St. Georgetown we will have portfolio reviews. Linda Nickell hosts a weekly photography Zoom meeting for photographers all around the country. She has developed a great following with Linda's "Happiness Hour" . We are excited that she will host a live "Happiness Hour" at the Georgetown Public Library during the March 19, 2022 Georgetown Texas Photography Festival. Be sure and drop by. The Georgetown Texas Photography Festival is March 19, 2022 on the Square in Georgetown Texas. David Valdez and the Williamson Museum are Co-Hosts. This year there will be 12 featured photographers in business around the Square. There will be photo walks, portfolio reveiws, photo classes and this year featuring Linda Nickell hosting the "Happiness Hour" live in the Georgetown Public Library. We are proud to announce that Precision Camera will also be participating.
The Featured photographers include Dawn Richardson, Jose Madrigal, Lin Zabojnik, Dave Werner, Sherry McRae, Jennifer Warner, Rebecca Moran, Nick Austin, Greg Daily and Robert McGee. Photography insturctors include, Todd White, Earl Nottingham and Harrison Funk. David Valdez and the Williamson Museum will host the 2022 Georgetown Texas Photography Festival March 19,2022 on the Square in Georgetown Texas. We are making plans to have photography classes, photo walks, portfolio reviews and featured photographers. This should be a good one to put on your calendar.

We also had some great photographers leading our photo walks, they were, David Werner, Rudy Ximenez, Harrison Funk and special guest appearance by Todd White. The festival is over at 4pm but many photographers are staying on the Square for dinner. At 6pm the Celtic Viking Studios is hosting a photographers connection in the studio.
